Love makeup influencers? Check out these cream of the crop of male makeup influencers on YouTube!
In recent years, society has more so embraced makeup being a form of expression rather than just a way to hide the parts of yourself that you might not want some people to see. With that, the beauty industry has completely transformed from one that has always catered towards the female form to one that has to accept that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Male makeup influencers have taken the industry by storm and change the way a lot of people look at and use makeup now. People who never would have thought twice about putting on any makeup are now wearing makeup everyday, and it’s because of these men that we all have the privilege to watch. So, here are the cream of the crop of the male makeup influencers on YouTube.
Every beauty guru knows Patrick Starr! Starr is known as one of YouTube's first male makeup artists to post makeup videos and vlogs. Additionally, Starrr typically uploads makeup tutorial views on YouTube that are easy enough for anyone to follow.
Starrr owns his own makeup brand entitled, “ONE SIZE BEAUTY.” The about page for the beauty brand reads, “One/Size is a beauty brand driving kindness and individuality through meaningful connection, profound storytelling, and innovative artistry. We make space for everyone to belong in our movement for radical expression.” Starr is a young influencer that younger and older generations simply can't get enough of, so be sure to check out his various tutorials.
Jake Jamie’s claim to fame was in his co-creation of the TikTok viral watermelon face mask. Previous to that, as a male makeup influencer, he had risen to prominence via starting the online movement known as #MakeupIsGenderless. The hashtag now has a whopping 20.8 million views on TikTok as of writing this blog post. As a small but mighty male makeup influencer, he has also gone on to become the face of L’Oreal UK.
Gabriel Zamora is a self-taught makeup artist having made a name for himself on social media as a male makeup influencer. He later went on to become an in-house stylist for Ipsy. Zamora creates unique content and is able to reach a broader audience in that he creates his content in both Spanish and English.
Zamora's makeup content is diverse from beauty challenges to product reviews. Zamora occassionally uploads podcasts to his channel as well. If you watching beauty content outside of makeup tutorials, check out Gabriel!
Lewys Ball is a London-based teenage male makeup influencer. In 2017, Ball was lucky enough to become the first male face of Rimmel cosmetics. He is also now the host of a podcast called, “Pop Off,” where he does a deep dive of that week’s hot topics with a new special guest each week. His podcast can be found on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Arabia Felix is a Middle Eastern male makeup influencer best known for his drag makeovers. Felix has been practicing makeup and drag since he was a teenager despite living in a part of the world that is less than accepting of this. Felix attracts a predominantly female audience with over 35% of his audience living in America.
While he isn't very active on YouTube anymore, you can often see him posting on Instagram. If you love drag-inspired makeup loaded with bright colors and sparkles, check out Arabix Felix!
